There are a number of areas that I could cover for this brief in terms of making a statement, comment or advice for the 1st years. I clearly remember meeting the first years for the first time and them showing us what they had produced from this brief so I have also been able to take influence from this.
The post card design particularly stands out to me as it is something that I used in my first semester of university to stay in contact with friends and family. I think that if the post cards were given to me (for free!) then I would have done this more. It is a personal and quick method of sending a note home and could easily be adapted to suit the brief that I have written. This would also allow me to work in a focused method of production and to better my skills in the areas that I have previously highlighted.
Although I have highlighted through PPP that I would like to specialise and better my practise in editorial design, I feel that the audience would benefit from this less. This is because in the first couple of weeks at university you are bombarded with information leaflets and booklets which usually get thrown straight in the bin. This is not something that I want to happen to something I have produced and would like my outcome to be as beneficial to the students as possible.
