2. Research

To further my research I have looked at some other high street shoe makers as well as retail companies to gain inspiration from their logos. Each of the designs have a simple font with a one/two colour palette. Having a plus kerning means that the logos are clear to read at any distance, regardless of their size.

I wanted to look at other hight street rebrands that have happened in the last five years to highlight any trends. One rebrand that I think has been very successful is Lush.

This rebrand has been taken from the influence of the chalkboards that you see being used frequently on the shop floor, adding to the handmade feel. Having a more clear and bold design allows the company to speak for itself without having the garish colours influencing the message that the typeface logo gives off. Having a simple design represents the purity of the company and how they stand against animal testing. I think that this is shown through the black and white colour pallet, as well as the bold font used in the design.
