Concertina

In the project pack provided by Bear, it was mentioned that they would like to see what the 'collectable mechanic' would be that would received through sending of a certain number of barcodes from the packaging. This is a topic area that we have discussed on numerous occasions, working round the idea of creating something to demonstrate the illustrations in a way that would appeal to 4-9 year olds and be something that they are excited and proud to have. Due to the cards being factual and therefore educational, we came up with the concept of a concertina. This has developed from the original poster style we had discussed.

Each section of the concertina is A5. If this were to be commercially printed, each section would be printed on the same sheet of paper and then folded accordingly. Due to a limit we faced with printing funds, we were not able to do this for the printed demonstration. However, the print was photographed in a way that demonstrated what the 'collectable mechanic' is and how the fun and engaging illustrations from the YOYO cards have been used to form a separate outcome. This was something that I put together using the illustrations provided by Emma. It was again, important to ensure that the plant to the left and right of the sections were the same so that each section joined up successfully. Bethan then arranged the document to be printed and photographed the outcomes.
