Leeds Pride

Leeds Pride is an annual Gay Pride celebration which is held every year at Millennium Square with the parade moving on to other locations/streets in the city. Each year the event sees an increasing number of individuals attending in support and celebration of the event. Although this is an event that occurs in many cities across the world, it demonstrates the value of community in Leeds, as well as creating a positive stance against discrimination and violence towards LGBT people.

The images that are posted on the Leeds Pride website are a clear demonstration of the colours used during the event. The association of the event and the  rainbow of colours began in the 1970's. The Rainbow flag is a symbol of LGBT and social movement.
