Feedback Friday

Admittedly  I went to the crit group today with minimal ideas for this brief. Although the brief allows for a more creative approach I have struggled to come up with a range of ideas. However, whilst listening to the majority of the group before it was my turn to talk, I had a number of ideas from the concepts that were mentioned, as well as having individual ideas.

Basing the concept of the note around a festival was a popular idea. It was discussed that the note could be exclusive to the festival and that it would be unique to each festival year. The sentimentally of wearing a wristband would be transferred to having money left over as memorabilia but that can also be used in the following year. It was also discussed that the note could celebrate the history of the festival as well as the main and more unique headliners. This note could be made using various bright, metallic or even glow in the dark inks. This would also allow me to experiment with screen printing which is something I have documented in PPP as something that I would like to aim to do in the future.

The brickston note

The idea of having a child's interpretation of money also received positive comments. However an issue with this is that it would appear that the money is aimed at children who are not the main users. On the other hand, it could be adjusted in a way that it could demonstrate a child's interpretation of money, as they have no concept of the value of money. This would be a way round not addressing a child audience and would be something that the whole population could relate to.
