Millennium Square
- The main square in front of the Civic Hall
- Opened in December 2000
- Hosted visit from Nelson Mandela for the opening of the adjoining Nelson Mandela Gardens which were given the Freedom of the City honour.
- The remains of the old swimming baths and house cellars were exposed when the square was constructed. These were filled in during the construction time
- Hosted concerts: Embrace, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol, Fall Out Boy
- Hosts civic ceremonies, fairs, markets and street entertainment
- BBC screen which shows major sporting events
- Leeds Pride, first weekend in august
Roundhay Park
- Three miles north from leeds
- 700 acres
- Parkland, lakes, woodlands & formal gardens
- Tropical World (Zoo)
- Thomas Nicholson disguised the land that had previously been used in the form of quarries and coal mines
- 1891 brought the first ever public electric tram with overhead power in Britain to Roundhay Park, linking it with Leeds City Centre 3 miles away
Briggate Leeds
- Pedestrianised (1993, closed to all traffic in 1996) shopping street in central leeds
- Constructed in 1207, connecting to the Leeds Bridge
- Briggate means 'the road to the bridge'
- Main north-south link through Leeds
- During the English Civil War a pitched battle was fought for the control of leeds along the length of Briggate
- Originally hosted the market which later moved to Vicar Lane
- Between 2004 and 2006, Briggate was pave with York Stone. This saw the removal of the roadway and pavements
- The iconic and architecturally recognised arcades of Leeds lead off either side of Briggate
