Creating a persona profile of members of the target audience is something that Only Studio introduced me to. This would be a reference point to guide and direct design decisions and to ensure that they would be appropriate to the target audience. Rather than just presuming each of these profiles, I have taken the notes made at the Country Living Fair and transferred them into a profile.
Persona 1
- Has the magazines as a coffee table book that is read with care and cleanliness
- Each page is kept the same as when the magazine first arrives in the post, bookmarks are used to save the pages
- The theme of each magazine is important to this person
- Uses laptop on a daily basis for work/social purposes
- Likes things to be easily understood and navigate otherwise interest is lost
- Has difficulty reading small text
Persona 2
- Likes to save pages from the magazine through folding the corner or ripping pages out
- Uses a tablet device on a daily basis to read the news/emails
- Requires the size of text to be adjustable
Persona 3
- Reads the magazine on occasion, doesn't have a subscription but it is something that has been considered
- Looks at magazine for inspiration and general reading
- Layout of the magazine is simple and consistent
- Uses a tablet device on a daily basis to read the news/social media
- If something is not easily understood then interest is lost and frustration is caused
